On the following day, people gathered right at the spot with flowers and balloons where George Floyd was murdered. Danella was a girl giving a speech and broke out in tears even before she finished speaking.

This is what she said and it’s so sad and emotional, Danella Frazier,” I was the one that was recording the whole thing, I’ve seen him die, I posted the video last night and it just went viral and everybody is asking me how do I feel? I don’t know how to feel because its so hard bro.

This man was literally right here 8:00 pm yesterday, I was walking my cousin to the store, and I just saw him on the ground, I’m like, what is going on? This man cannot f*cking breathe at all. He’s like, please I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe and they did not care. They killed this man. And I was right there! I was like 5 feet away! It is so traumatizing”.

Who is George Floyd

George Perry Floyd, age 46, was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and raised in the Third Ward of Houston, Texas. In 2014 he moved to Minnesota.

George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, died on May 25, 2020, in Minneapolis, Minnesota after Derek Chauvin, a white police officer, knelt on Floyd’s neck for almost nine minutes while Floyd was handcuffed face down in the street. Two other officers further restrained Floyd and a fourth officer prevented onlookers from intervening. During the final three minutes, Floyd was motionless and had no pulse. Officers made no attempt to revive him, and Chauvin’s knee remained on Floyd’s neck as arriving emergency medical technicians attempted to treat him.

After Floyd’s death, demonstrations and protests against the use of excessive force by police officers and lack of police accountability were held globally. Protests in the Minneapolis–Saint Paul area were initially peaceful on May 26 and became violent as a police precinct and two stores were burned, and many stores were looted. Some demonstrators skirmished with police, who fired tear gas and rubber bullets.

Additional protests occurred around the world, including all 50 US states. Floyd’s death has been compared to the death of Eric Garner, a black man who repeated “I can’t breathe” while in a fatal chokehold placed by a New York City police officer in 2014.

How George Floyd Died

Danella Frazier Facebook

As previously reported, Darnella took to Facebook to respond to critics who claimed she should have done more to help George.

“I don’t expect anyone who wasn’t placed in my position to understand why and how I feel the way that I do!! MIND YOU I am a minor ! 17 years old, of course, I’m not about to fight off a cop I’m SCARED wtf,” she wrote. “Fighting would’ve got someone else killed or in the same position George (may he Rest In Peace) was in!” she continued. “If it wasn’t for me 4 cops would’ve still had their jobs, causing other problems.

My video went worldwide for everyone to see and know!! His family was reached out to! The police most definitely would’ve swept it under the rug with a cover-up story. Instead of bashing me, THANK ME! Because that could’ve been one of your loved ones and you would want to see the truth as well. Anyone with something negative to say pls block me. I’m not forcing you to watch me.”
