A few years later, Cristina returned to San Antonio. The show she interned for ten years ago has been working on CBS’s KENS-TV 5’s Great Day SA ever since. During her senior year of college, Blackwell found work as a reporter and columnist for La Prensa, a Latin media company that covers everything from radio to TV.
She worked as a radio host for Fresh Beat 93.7 and Radio Ola 105.9. However, she covered weekly columns and wrote articles in both English and Spanish. Also, she appeared on Telemundo’s Telecom commercials. For ABC KSAT 12 News, another La Prensa affiliate. she assisted field reporters and helped run things behind the scenes.
Later, she did this with CBS’s Great Day SA, as well. In October 2009, she was promoted to a full-time reporter for La Prensa and remained there for three years. She is a professionally trained chef. Also, she went abroad to Paris to learn how to cook right after high school.
