Craig Brown (ex-footballer) cause of death

Scottish professional football player and manager Craig Brown died on June 26, 2023. After a string of knee problems ended Brown’s playing career with Rangers, Dundee, and Falkirk, he joined Clyde’s management team in 1977. Then, until he was named Scotland manager in 1993, Brown served as the head coach of different Scotland youth teams.

Scotland qualified for the UEFA Euro 1996 and FIFA World Cup 1998 under his leadership, which was the longest tenure of any manager in Scotland history. Later, Brown oversaw Motherwell, Aberdeen, and Preston North End. In 2013, he took a retirement from management and was made a non-executive director of Aberdeen. In order to gain experience, Brown was first transferred to Coltness United, where he was chosen for the Scotland Junior team.
