The 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia not only saw France being one of the greatest teams, having managed to qualify for the final, it also saw the team as one of the three with the youngest players. One of the footballers who helped the team to be as good as they were in the tournament and who is still among the youngest is Corentin Tolisso. While playing for the France national team, Tolisso also plays in the Bundesliga for Bayern Munich as a midfielder.
Corentin Tolisso Biography,
The French midfielder was born on August 3, 1994 in France, Tarare. It was also there that he was raised by his father, Vincent Tolisso, a postman, and by his mother, who was, from 2017, a director of a disabled person. He grew up alongside a sister.
Like many other players who came to succeed in the sport, Tolisso, of French and Togolese descent, started playing football since childhood.
He hit the road to play professional football at the age of 6, he went to Stade Amplepuisien in 2000. He stayed there until 2004 before continuing his career in FC Pays de l’Arbresle. Three years later, the young lad who would one day win the World Cup with France moved to Lyon.

He played 116 league games and scored 21 goals before signing a contract that took him to Germany for Bayern Munich. Before deciding to head to Munich, other clubs were interested in the star midfielder, including Chelsea FC of England.
Having signed a €41.5m contract with the Bundesliga, he became the most expensive player to be signed by the German side. Before him, the club’s most expensive players to sign were Mario Götze and Vidal, who both signed a €37m contract, and Mats Hummels (€38m). By the end of the 2017/2018 season, he had already seen the back of the net 6 times, having made 26 league appearances.
For Les Bleus de France, Corentin Tolisso got his first call to play for the country’s under-19 team in 2012. Before the final of the tournament which he managed to make with other members of the national team, after defeating Belgium, Tolisso had already registered 13 matches under his national colors, making 4 appearances in the World Cup.
Even though Tolisso’s career is still rather young, he already won a Bundesliga title with Bayern and the DFL-Supercup in 2018. He was also part of the UEFA Europa League squad for the 2016/ 2017. On the international stage, he beat Croatia 4-2 on July 15, 2018, alongside his French team, to win the coveted FIFA World Cup.
Parents and sister
As stated, the French national team midfielder was raised by his parents alongside his sister. As a very private gamer, very little is known about his family life except for his parents’ profession as shared above.
That said, his father, Vincent Tolisso was an amateur player in his youth. Before each game, his mother sends him a message while his father sends the message after the game is over. Obviously, this indicates that he has a close-knit family.
Height, weight, measurements
Corentin Tolisso is undoubtedly a hard-working player who has plenty of stamina and strength, although the man who would almost always be called the hard worker in the French team is Ngolo Kante. Nonetheless, nothing should be taken away from Tolisso, who was able to complement his good size and build with his skill set to become the exceptional player he is.
He is 1.81 m (5 ft 11 in) tall and weighs 78 kg (172 lb). Although his general measurements are not known, it is evident that he is well built and athletic.
