During her career, Chung has interviewed a lot of popular personalities from time to time. On 5th January, 1995, Chung interviewed Kathleen Gingrich, mother of the then republican, Newt Gingrich. On April 1995, Chung was in another controversy by asking the Oklahoma City Fire Department spokesman whether they were capable of handling the “Bomb Situation” that had aroused in the city. Based on the situation, it was a very insensitive question from Chung. She was eventually demoted from her job by CBS.
