At the age of 46, linebacker Clark Haggans, a Super Bowl champion, went suddenly. The Pittsburgh Steelers selected him 137th overall in the fifth round of the 2000 NFL Draft after watching him play college football at Colorado State. He was a member of the team from 2000 to 2007, becoming a key component of the defense. He won Super Bowl XL with the Steelers at the conclusion of the 2005 NFL season.
Other than his connection to the Pittsburgh Steelers, his tenure with the Arizona Cardinals was equally outstanding. He traveled with the group that competed in Super Bowl XLIII. He had the good fortune to play against his old team.
