Boxing Career

Cruz has solidified her position as one of the top fighters globally, making her mark in the world of boxing. Her journey began in 2006 when she started boxing at a local club in New York City. Since then, Cruz has crafted an outstanding amateur career, boasting an impressive total of 7 USA National Championships and earning two world medals in the bantamweight division.

Her remarkable achievements extend to breaking records, including the most consecutive NY Golden Glove titles, surpassing Mark Breland’s record of 5 in 2012, and later securing her unprecedented 10th NY Golden Glove championship in 2016.

In 2020, Cruz reached a significant milestone by making both the US Olympic team as an alternate and the Puerto Rican Olympic qualifying team. However, circumstances surrounding the pandemic and a decision by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) led to her exclusion from the 2020 Olympics.

Undeterred, Cruz made a pivotal decision in 2021 to transition from the amateur ranks to professional boxing. Currently boasting an undefeated record at 6-0, she is on a path that could lead her to contend for a title shot in the future.

Cruz’s boxing style, reminiscent of legends like Willy Pep and Sugar Ray Robinson, showcases a classic approach. With over 150 fights of experience, she dazzles audiences by gracefully dancing around her opponents while delivering stinging punches with speed and precision from the outside. Her exciting and skillful style, often leaving spectators in awe, has earned her the moniker of the “Hell’s Kitchen Kid.”
