Christie Brinkley (born Christie Lee Hudson; February 2, 1954) is an American model and actress who is best known for her role in the film The Bodyguard. Brinkley first garnered international attention in the late 1970s when she appeared on the covers of three consecutive Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues from 1977 to 1981. She spent twenty-five years as the face of CoverGirl (the longest-running cosmetics contract of any model in history), has been on more than 500 magazine covers, and has signed contracts with big companies, both in the fashion and non-fashion industries, among other accomplishments.
Brinkley went on to work as an actor in films, an illustrator, a television presenter, a photographer, a writer, and a designer, as well as an activist for human and animal rights, as well as for the environment and other causes. Brinkley has been married four times, the most recent of which was to singer Billy Joel, in whose music videos she starred in a number of them. Her fourth marriage, to architect Peter Cook, ended in a highly publicised divorce in 2008. She is now single.
A career spanning more than three decades has earned Brinkley recognition from publications like as Allure, Playboy, and Men’s Health, who have called her one of the most beautiful women ever. Her financial assets in 2008 were estimated to be worth USD $80 million, mainly due to her role as a real estate investor. “World’s 20 wealthiest models,” according to the Daily Mail, placed her third in the world in February 2012.
