Hip-hop singer Pepa said that she quit her husband Anthony “Treach” Criss years earlier because he harassed her, but in a new interview on “The Breakfast Club” Treach revealed a different version. He was saying that she had abandoned him for another woman.
The Salt-N-Pepa star, whose real name is Sandra Jacqueline Denton, was proposed to men and women by Treach, who is a part of the rap community Naughty by Nature. He said that when they were together, they had a woman and she left him to be their girlfriend.
In addition, Treach maintained that he never harmed Pepa or cheated on him.
Pepa gave birth to Egypt, the daughter of Treach, in 1998. After seven years of an on-and-off friendship, she married him in 1999 at a Kansas City tattoo parlor. In 2001, they got separated after she suspected him of assaulting her sexually.
She remembered the time Treach demanded divorce in her tell-all novel, “I fell asleep in his arms. The next thing I knew, I opened my eyes and he’s standing over me. He screamed, ‘B***h! I want a divorce!’ He then grabbed my ring off my finger and threw it at me with all his might.”
He caught me and yanked me out of the bed. He proceeded to slam me against the headboard. He picked me up by my neck, choking me, then he smashed me against the footboard. I felt like the heavy metal had broken my back open. He kept shouting, ‘F**k you, b***h!’ as he started hitting me.’
On social media back then, Treach shot back at her, claiming that her book was full of misinformation. In addition, he suspected her of smuggling their teenage daughter into clubs and sleeping in the industry with younger males.
Egypt questioned her father after she read the book for the first time in a 2017 episode of “Growing Up Hip Hop” “before it got far and twisted.”until it got far and twisted.”I ain’t the savage that they’re putting me out to be.”I’m not the crazy guy they’re putting me out to be.
