He debuted in the National Football League in 2002 when he was selected by the New Orleans Saints as the 25th overall pick in the first round of the 2002 NFL Draft. He played with the Saints from 2002 through 2009 seasons. On July 27, 2002, he was offered by the Saints with a six-year contract extension.
On March 5, 2010, Grant was released by the Saints. In July of the same year, he agreed to a two-year contract with the Miami Dolphins only to be released on September 5, 2010.
