Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to
apply for a Chadian Visa.
- Mauritian passport valid for 6 months from the date of arrival in Chad with two free pages for visa stamping.
- Two copies of the completed and signed visa application form
- A recent passport-sized photograph with a lightly colored or plain white background
- International certificate of vaccination against yellow fever
- Letter of ascent from your employer or educational institution in Mauritius
- Copy of round flight ticket
- An invitation letter from host in Chad
- Travel insurance that is valid for duration of stay
- Copy of your recent bank statement preferably from three months earlier proving that you have sufficient funds for the duration of the stay
- Proof of hotel or accommodation reservation
- Parents/legal guardians are required to sign the application forms on behalf of minors
- Incomplete application and forms that are not duly signed will be rejected

Requirements
- This visa is issued to those who intend to go to Chad for commercial and trade activities.
- The individual can also participate in exhibitions, attend conferences,negotiate contracts and witness in court trials
- An invitation letter stating the purpose of the visit and length of stay is required
- A business visa cannot replace a study visa and can therefore not be used to study
- Reference letter from your company in Mauritius is required
- Proof of financial capacity (bank statement, asset declaration)
- If your host or employer intends to cater for the bills incurred during your stay then a written letter is required
- The letter must meet the following specifications:
- It should be written on the company’s letter headed paper
- It should be addressed to Chadian embassy
- Should contain the name of the applicant sponsored by the company
- Dates of visit(arrival and supposed departure)
- It must contain the company guarantee of financial responsibility for all expenses incurred
- You are not allowed to take up paid or unpaid employment with this visa
- For self-employed applicants, submit a copy of business registration proof

- The tourist visa is issued to those who intend to visit Chad for tourism or leisure.
- Holders of this visa are allowed to relax, recreate, and tour chad without restrictions
- The visa is valid for 90 days and cannot be extended
- A first time tourist must obtain a registration stamp through the National Police in Chad within 72 hours of arrival.
- You must have proof of accommodation which could be in a hotel or an apartment
- If you intend to stay at your friend or relative’s house, you won’t need to book a hotel. However, your friend/relative will have to send an invitation letter to you.
- You must submit a receipt to show that all necessary fees have been paid to completion
- It is important to get vaccinated for yellow fever and other possible illnesses such as malaria before travelling to Chad
- It is necessary to have a valid medical insurance as the health facilities in Chad are relatively poor
- You are not allowed to work or study in Chad with tourist visa
- Holders of this visa type cannot take up permanent residence in Chad
- Overstaying your visa is an offense.
