The wide receiver currently plays for the new Orleans Saints who he signed for in 2018 after injuries saw him become a restricted free agent. But where did it all start for the football maestro? We take a look back at his career early days in high school and college that helped him become the star he is today.

Cameron Meredith Biography

Cameron Meredith was born like any other human being on earth – on September 21, 1992 – and as his mother cradled and fed him, she didn’t realize she had a star in her arms. Born to his parents, Lonnie and Tonjua Meredith, in Westchester, Illinois, Meredith’s talents and gifts in the brown oval leather game were on display early on. His known family members are his parents, and it’s hard to tell if there are any siblings before or after him, as he hasn’t revealed if there were any.

He attended high school at St. Joseph High School in Westchester, Illinois and played football with the school team as a quarterback. He was outstanding in the game and also excelled in his studies. For her efforts, Meredith won the three-year high school letter in recognition of her phenomenal contribution to schools football.

University career

After graduating from high school in 2009, Cameron Meredith chose to enroll at the University of Illinois, where he would continue his college education, where he would later play college football for the Redbirds. He didn’t play his freshman year (2010 season) in college because he was redshirted that season, then when he joined the team he was the backup quarterback, position that he had played so well in high school.

Changing his game to play as a wide receiver in his junior year meant he got more playing time with the Redbirds. He played 10 games in the 2013 season, then another 15 games the following season. He recorded 66 receptions for a total of 1,061 yards with 9 touchdowns. In 2015, the now widely recognized Redbirds wide receiver said he was in the NFL Draft for that year.

However, he was snubbed and no invitation was given to him making him part of the next NFL Combine, much to the disappointment of those expecting him to turn pro. He took an unconventional route by participating in Northwestern University’s Pro Day exercise, where he caught the eye of club scouts who came to watch the prospects. This is how he was recruited by the Chicago Bears to play in the NFL.

Professional Career in the NFL

Cameron Meredith was not crushed after being pranked by a stranger over a phone call before the Chicago Bears came to his rescue and gave him the opportunity to continue playing football with professional players. After being signed by the Bears as a free agent at wide receiver, he played for them and closed the season with 11 receptions, including his first against the Arizona Cardinals in September.

He found playing time very hard to come by as it was the order of the day on a team that already boasted four wide receivers vying for the starting spot. He played his first game of the 2016 season against the Dallas Cowboys and had impressive stats. His first start of the season would come against the Indianapolis Colts just over a week later on Oct. 9, where he scored his first professional touchdown.

He would take the job at the expense of Kevin White and is having a fantastic season. His stats at the end of the 2016 season included four touchdowns and 66 catches for 888 yards.

Most Chicago Bears fans (critics included) must have Meredith expecting a big 2017 season following her fantastic 2016 season, but it wasn’t to be. He suffered a knee injury – a torn ACL – in the preseason that ended his season, which kept him out of the entire 2017 NFL season.

He was released by the Bears (a move many consider a “mistake” on the Bears’ part) for the 2018 season and was snapped up by the New Orleans Saints on a 2-year contract. The trade was completed after the Bears failed to match the sum.

Height, weight, measurements

Ready and ready to go, the New Orleans Saints man is looking forward to unleashing his full potential in the NFL after having to sit out the 2017 season. While recovering from a torn ACL, he never missed a beat. to stay in shape for the coming season. Injuries and long layoffs can disrupt a player’s figure but Cameron Meredith has done his best to maintain his form.

The above would explain why he now weighs 207lbs versus 200lbs (pre-injury). His height is measured at 1.91m which is the metric average of 6ft 3in. His other body measurements are not known.
