Malcolm Turnbull’s biography, fact, career, awards, net worth & life story

Malcolm Bligh Turnbull is an Australian politician with a net worth of $200 million. He has been the Prime Minister of Australia since September 2015. He was a part of the Liberal Party’s moderate wing because of his views on issues like same-sex marriage, republicanism, abortion and climate change. He supported the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme that the Rudd Government proposed in late 2009. Because of this, there was a split in the conservative wing which led to his defeat against Tony Abbott for the leadership by just a single vote. Turnbull initially intended to leave politics, but he stayed in the parliament and eventually became the Abbott Government’s Minister of Communications. That happened after the victory of the Coalition in the 2013 federal election. On September 14, 2015, he cited that the government consistently has poor opinion polling. Turnbull resigned from the cabinet and eventually challenged Abbott to a leadership ballot. Here, he was able to win by ten votes. He became the prime minister and formed the Turnbull Government.
