Elizabeth Jean “Busy” Philipps is an American actress. She is best known for her roles on the television series Freaks and Geeks, Dawson’s Creek, Love, Inc., and ER, for her abortion access advocacy.

Philipps married screenwriter Marc Silverstein on June 16, 2007. They have two children: Birdie Leigh, born in 2008, and Cricket Pearl, born in 2013. They separated in February 2021.
Silverstein was born to a Jewish family. His writing partner is Abby Kohn. They are known for co-writing romantic comedy films such as Never Been Kissed, He’s Just Not That Into You, How to Be Single, and the story for Valentine’s Day.
Their first co-directing project was I Feel Pretty starring Amy Schumer. They also co-wrote the romantic drama film The Vow.
Philipps says on the reactions she has received have been less about the split and more about how she and Silverstein are navigating it with their children. The couple separated about a year ago and are using the nesting method with their children.
