AC/DC have also made a fortune from touring, with their epic international trek from October 2008 to June 2010 producing box office receipts of £477m, from 5.1 million tickets sold at 168 concerts. Given the scale of these figures, Johnson is worth $90 million.
Born in Gateshead, Johnson has been the lead singer for the rock band AC/DC since 1980. His first album with the band, Back in Black, became one of the bestselling albums by any band, shifting 50m copies. That success has continued, with Who Made Who and The Razors Edge each selling 5 million copies in the United States alone.
