Brandon Weeden: Biography

Brandon Kyle Weeden was born on October 14, 1983. He attended Edmond Santa Fe High School, where he was the school’s starting quarterback. At 19, he led his high school team to victory and was named the team’s MVP and Offensive Player of the Year.

Brandon was originally not into football at first, he was more interested in baseball and was even drafted in the second round of the 2002 Major League Baseball Draft. Between 2002 and 2005 he played for several teams including New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers and Kansas City Royals. But in 2006 he played his final season of professional baseball and was unable to continue due to injuries and a string of poor performances.

Brandon then went to Oklahoma State University in 2007 and didn’t play any games the first year. In 2008, Weeden started playing for the college team – the Oklahoma State Cowboys. He was an outstanding player and even led the Cowboys to a win in November of that year. He maintained his peak performance, and in 2012 at the Fiesta Bowl, Weeden had 399 yards and 4 touchdowns.

He achieved a lot during his college years in football, including the 2010 Manning Award shortlist, 2010 Player of the Year, and 2012 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl champion.

Brandon was later released by the Texans on September 2, 2017. In October, he signed with the Tennessee Titans, but became a free agent soon after. He made a second move to the Houston Texans on March 27, 2018 and still retained his quarterback position. His NFL career stats as of 2017 are complete passes (559), pass attempts (965), yards (6,462) and passer rating (76.0).
