Bobby Higginson Net Worth, Income, Salary, Earnings, Biography

A former Major League Baseball outfielder, Robert Leigh Higginson (born August 18, 1970) spent his whole career with the Detroit Tigers, where he played his entire professional baseball career. He has a batting average of.272 throughout his career. Frankford High School and Temple University were among his educational stops. Tigers pitcher Higginson was selected in the 12th round of the 1992 Major League Baseball Draft. His first season with the Tigers was 1995, during which he appeared in 130 games.

The.320 batting average in 1996 was followed by the.300 mark in 2000. Higginson scored over 100 runs in 2000 and drove in over 100 runs in both 1997 and 2000. In 2000, he became one of nineteen players in baseball history to bat.300, score more than 100 runs, hit 30 home runs, hit 44 doubles, drive in more than 100 runs, and steal 15 bases all in the course of a single season. His career-high total of 30 home runs occurred in the same year. When he was at his peak, he was regarded as one of the greatest outfielders in the history of baseball.

He led the Majors in outfield assists on two separate occasions, and he also led all American League left fielders in putouts in 2000 (305) and 2001 (321), despite the fact that he was never awarded a Gold Glove for his defence. He was never selected to an All-Star squad in his career. A major league record was matched by Higginson on June 30 and July 1, 1997, when he hit four home runs in four consecutive at bats (note that there were some walks intermingled) — three on the first day of the doubleheader, and then another in the first inning of the second day of the doubleheader. Higginson was twice awarded “Tiger of the Year” by the Detroit chapter of the Baseball Writers and Artists Association (BBWAA).
