The only female member of popular band ‘Bad’ Lena Zawaideh of Things started experimenting with drumming when she was 11 years old. The talented musician, songwriter and vocalist joined the band in 2009 after Snowboarder founder Shaun White brought her on board. She remained with the band until 2014 when she was forced to quit due to the issue between her and Shaun White.
Currently, the former Bad Things drummer has continued her career, she has joined another popular band known as “NightPulse” which deals with genres like pop bliss and midnight emotionality. According to the drummer, the band’s name is a reflection of its sound. The two words Night and Pulse that make up the name are two symbolic/conflicting ideas that can blend together beautifully, while Night is an expression of dark and less happy qualities, Pulse is a striking rhythmic element.
Lena Zawideh’s bio
The American drummer was born on the 18th day of May 1989 in San Diego California USA under the zodiac sign of Taurus and she is a Christian by religion. While social media isn’t awash with information about her background, it’s common knowledge that the talented drummer spent a better part of her childhood in Carlsbad, San Diego.
Her childhood dream was to become a practicing doctor after earning a medical degree from Harvard Medical School, but it so happened that fate and providence had other plans for the young star because she fell in love with drums. and started drumming at the tender age of 11. University of California, after which she started playing drums with heavy metal bands alongside her brother.
Her relationship with Shaun White
Lena Zawaideh got her big break when Shaun White, owner of popular music group “Bad Things” and former Olympic snowboarder, gave her a job in 2009 with his band. Lena performed in the band along with other talented instrumentalists like; bassist Jared Palomar, singer Davis LeDuke, guitarist Anthony Sanudo as well as founder Shaun White who presents himself as a guitarist. According to Lena, her relationship with the former Olympic snowboarder and frontman of the popular band is that of boss and employee.
She came on board the group when Shaun offered her a job with them in 2009 although Lena Zawaideh has reportedly known Shaun all her life since growing up with him and Anthony Sanudo. Unfortunately, Shaun fired her from the band in 2014 without paying her for some of the work she did with them.
TMZ reported that a few years after the group was fired, she filed a public complaint in a lawsuit filed in May 2016. In the lawsuit, Lena Zawideh demanded $42,000 in back pay and also sued for damages. punishments and sexual harassment she suffered during her time with Shaun. According to Lena, who was only 16 when she started working with the band, Shaun’s behavior was always odd from the start. She revealed that after binge drinking he would get weird but would usually apologize the next day. He did a lot of weird things like; forcing her to watch offensive pornographic videos and photos of male sexual organs, including videos that sexualize human fecal matter.
During the trial, the trial was changed to include an occasion when the leader of the group attempted to steal a kiss from Lena at a Halloween party, but was met with resistance. Shaun was also accused of grabbing Lena’s butt against her will and forcing her to get a haircut and wear revealing clothes, which she refused to do. Another weird behavior from Shaun was putting his hands on his pants and forcing Lena to smell them by sticking dirty hands on her face.
Why did she go to court?
Lena Zawaideh who expressed embarrassment being overtreated in this way by Shaun said she is pursuing the case in order to put an end to the harassment of women at work.In addition, the Olympic snowboarder should not be allowed to behave like he just want it because he’s famous. According to her, she couldn’t just sit and watch Shaun victimize another unsuspecting woman.
On the other hand, Shaun who has strongly challenged the has done his best to compel Lena to undergo a mental health examination due to her claim to suffer from mental and emotional trauma as a result of the chain of incidences. However, according to media reports, Shaun eventually dropped the claim and entered into an out-of-court settlement with Lena.
