Bernard Membe died after having respiratory problems and was transported to a hospital in Dar es Salaam, where he was pronounced dead a short time after his arrival, according to news that is presently generating waves throughout the social media in Tanzania and East Africa.
The letter was from a dedicated employee of the Tanzanian government who worked assiduously and fearlessly, according to the President’s offer of condolences to the family.
He served as the cabinet secretary in charge of international affairs under the former president John Pombe Magufuli, a position he held for five years. He will be laid to rest as soon as burial procedures start.
