British bass guitarist Terry Uttley, the husband of his late wife Shirly, reportedly died at the age of 70.

Terry Uttley was born on 9th June 1951. He was a Smokie band member. They had their humble beginnings in Bradford, Yorkshire. 

Terry was on of the founding member joining as bass guitarist in the 1960s.

The started out doing small gigs throughout their college years. They even had different members join and leave their group until they got a manager in the late 1960s.

Things started looking brighter as they had higher salaries and even got to perform in the telly.
