Koroisau broke the rules of the 2021 State of Origin series as he snuck a woman in the bubble. He brought the woman into the New South Wales bubble twice, and the second one was on June 27, 2021, on the day of Game Two. The first time was on June 20, a day prior to the team was moved to Kingscliff, NSW. The team was placed in a bubble to prevent any exposure to the Coronavirus.

According to the Daily Mail, Koroisau met the woman online. He endangered the whole team and NRL competition by breaking the rules. Api Koroisau is placed under investigation by the NRL, as of July 22, 2021.
