In Anne’s final hours, he was with her and sat beside her hospital bed. She will be interred in their family’s mausoleum at Metairie Cemetery in New Orleans in a private ceremony.
This news was shared by his son, Christopher on his official account. He wrote on his page: “Earlier tonight, my mother, Anne Rice, passed away due to complications resulting from a stroke.”
He added, “She left us almost nineteen years to the day my father, her husband Stan, died. Below is a statement I posted to her Facebook page moments ago.”

Anne Rice was married to her husband Stan Rice. Stan was an American poet and painter who was born in Dallas, Texas, in 1942.
They met in a high-school journalism class in Richardson, Texas. Soon they married in Denton, Texas, on October 14, 1961.
The couple was together for 41 years till his death from brain cancer in 2002 at age 60.
They attended North Texas State University together in Denton. Then they moved to San Francisco State University to earn their MA.
