Angela Egan is a Scottish professional ice skater and dancer. She is known for appearing and winning the thirteenth series of ITV’s Dancing on Ice on March 14, 2021, alongside her celebrity partner, Sonny Jay. Her victory made her one of the four professionals to win their first series. In October 2021, it was announced that Angela will return on the 14th series of Dancing on Ice in January 2022 for her second series. She is paired with Happy Monday’s musician and dancer Mark Berry, popularly known as Bez.
Angela started taking skating at an early age and began competing at the age of eight. She started her career at the Waterfront Ice Rink. According to her Instagram bio, She also serves as a coach at British Ice Skating and a Part-time Princess at Disney On Ice. She has worked with Disney On Ice for eight years before losing her role due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After she lost her Disney gig, Angela worked for Amazon where she was packing the shelves.
Speaking about working at Amazon, the Dancing on Ice champion said, “I was on tour with Disney on Ice when coronavirus hit and I came home and my skating partner, my boyfriend who is American, went back to the States thinking we’d only be separated for a week or two tops but it was seven months, When I was home, in Greenock everything was shut, there were no skating shows, so I got a job in Amazon packing the shelves to keep me going, to get me out of the house and so I wasn’t dipping into my savings.” according to The Daily Record.
Angela attended the university in London where she studied fashion design, she refers to herself as a fashion enthusiast. While in college, she stopped competing to focus on her studies but still coached at Greenock. She’s ‘Forever Nomad’ and enjoys traveling, she applied for Disney on Ice mainly to travel the world.
