Her mother raised Angel and his young sibling alone as a single mom.

Reese played for the Maryland Terrapins women’s team for a season before moving to Louisiana State University in May 2022. She now plays as a guard for the Tigers in Southeastern Conference (SEC).
With an astounding 6 feet and 3 inches tall, Reese is on the verge of greatness, having already won multiple accolades at such a young age.

Angel Reese Grew Up In Maryland
Reese spent his childhood with his mom Angel, who nurtured her in Maryland. Angel successfully raised her two kids as a single parent.
From a young age, she showed a natural talent for various activities, including track, swimming, ballet, and basketball.
Given her family background, it was no surprise that Angel was drawn to basketball.
Reese parents were former college basketball players, and her mom Angel had played for UMBC while her dad Mike was a star player for Boston College.
The up-and-rising prospect inherited their competitive spirit and love for the game, but unfortunately, she did not have the privilege of having both guardians around to support her.
After they parted ways when Angel and her brother were born, Mrs. Angel raised them as a single mom.
She instilled in Angel a fierce work ethic, unwavering dedication, and the skills and confidence needed to compete at the highest level.
Her hard work paid off when she received a scholarship to play basketball for the LSU Tigers. With Angel’s unwavering support, she packed her bags and headed to Louisiana to start a new chapter of her life.
It was a challenge at first, adapting to a new environment and playing with a new team. But the young athlete was determined to succeed, putting in countless hours of practice and training.
Her passion for the game, competitive spirit and athletic mindset quickly ascended her into the limelight.
Angel’s mum remained her biggest supporter, attending every game she could and cheering her daughter on from the stands.

Angel Reese has two siblings, a brother named Julian and a half brother named Mikael Hopkins.

She gets along with Julian and is the one who introduced him to Maryland Terrapins. If anybody finds Angel’s towering height of 6 feet, 3 inches, impressive, they would be in utter disbelief to learn that her brother Julian reaches a startling 6-foot, 9 inches tall.
At St. Frances Academy, they laid the groundwork for their future success on the basketball court, where they both attended and cultivated their skills.
Julian joined the Tarrapins in 2021 after playing for the academy for four years. He played in 32 games during the 2021–22 season, averaging 4.4 REBs and 5.7 points per game.
Moreover, Julian had a strong start to the 2022–23 season, averaging 7.2 REB and 11.2 points in less games than the previous year.
On the other hand, Angel’s half-brother Hopkins is also a professional basketball star who played in the Lega Basket Serie A (LBA) in Italy. Mikael played high school basketball for DeMatha Catholic before joining Georgetown Hoyas in 2011.
Hopkins completed his four years at the university, and after a joyous and successful career, he was selected by the NBA in the 2015 draft. Sadly, he was passed over for the final selection and was not taken in the draft.
