Mike shared, he pretended to be unaware of Aliya’s identity although she was quite famous for her work as an MTV News host on television. Mike worked as an engineer during the football off-season and they met at the bar.

Speaking on her Youtube channel, Aliya and Mike share that they had to cancel a confirmed wedding date due to wedding restrictions in the states. However, they did register the marriage officially.
Finally, the couple exchanged vows in the open air at Sasaab’s luxurious tented camp resort situated just outside Samburu National Reserve. Aliya and Mike had to plan their wedding in Kenya without their family and friends.
It was a low-cost wedding with the help of resort staff and safari guides’ involvement. However, they were surprised with a reception that included a private bonfire and barbecue in the woods after a blissful wedding. An armed guard spent the entire night next to the table because it resort was a wild risk area.
Although Aliya and Mike were separated from their loved ones on their most important day, her family had planned a bottle of champagne for the dinner. According to her Instagram, they were married on 28 July 2021.
