Sammy Sosa’s Net Worth, Biography, Career, Awards, Fact and Life Story

Sammy Sosa net worth: Sammy Sosa is a Dominican retired professional baseball right fielder who has a net worth of $70 million. Sammy Sosa played Major League Baseball from 1989 to 2007, during which time he earned around $120 million in salary alone. He also earned tens of millions from endorsements. Sammy played for four teams, starting with the Texas Rangers in 1989. After three seasons, he was traded to the Chicago White Sox and then, in 1992, to the Chicago Cubs. The following year, this right fielder became one of the league’s best hitters, as well as the Cubs’ first player to hit 30 home runs and steal 30 bases in one season, a feat that he repeated in 1994. It was in 1998, when Sosa, along with Mark McGwire, achieved national fame for their home run-hitting prowess in pursuit of Roger Maris’ home run record. He closed the year with 66 home runs, fetching him the National League’s Most Valuable Player award. In 1999 he became the first player ever to hit more than 60 home runs in each of two seasons. Right before the start of the 2005 season, he was traded to the Baltimore Orioles. Following a futile year with the Orioles, he sat out the 2006 season and joined the Texas Rangers. With the Rangers, he hit the 600th home run of his career, becoming the fifth player in MLB history to reach the milestone. In June 2009, Sosa announced his intention to retire from Major League Baseball.
