Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke declared on Tuesday that he was prepared to collaborate closely with the state legislature to implement his administration’s five-point agenda.
The governor made this pledge when he met with Timothy Owoeye, the current Speaker of the House of Assembly.
According to his spokesman Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke described himself as a man with a passion for the legislature at the reception held in the governor’s hometown in Ede.
He claimed that doing so would allow him to fulfil the five promises his administration had made to the people of Osun State and lead the state to new heights.
Adeleke praised the productive cooperation between the state legislature and the executive branch.
The governor spoke at the meeting and praised the legislature as an instrumental branch of government that helps ensure good governance, accountability, and leadership transparency.
There were prominent leaders from both branches of government present at the meeting.
The Speaker assured the governor that the legislature was ready to back the governor’s administration in its efforts to fulfil the promises it had made to the people of the state.
According to NAN, Adeleke, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, and Kola Adewusi, his deputy, were sworn in on Sunday as the new Executive Governor and Deputy Governor of Osun State, respectively, succeeding Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress.
