Aaron Babbitt Wife was shot Dead in Capitol Building

A graphic video began circulating on social media of a Trump supporter named Ashley Babbitt, who was shot shortly after protesters broke into the government building.

Babbitt was shot in the chest during the mayhem inside the Capitol on January 6, 2021. Video footage captured the sound of the gunshot and showed the woman crumpling to the floor from multiple angles.

Babbitt’s mother-in-law claims that the family found out about her death on TV saying: “I’m numb. I’m devastated. Nobody from DC notified my son and we found out on TV. She is a Trump supporter.

Adding: “Aaron’s brother Justin, who was Ashli’s brother-in-law, said everything was “pretty surreal. It’s hard because we haven’t been officially notified.”

Ashli & Aaron Babbitt

Ashli Babbitt, 35, was married to Aaron and the couple resided in San Diego, California. Her husband confirmed to KUSI News that she was the woman in question who was fatally shot inside the US Capitol by police.

It is unclear what Aaron does for a living. He sent Babbitt a text message during the protests asking for a “status check” but did not hear back from her afterward.

Babbit had posted a number of pro-Trump messages on her Twitter account before her trip to Washington D.C. She had 14 years in the service and had done four tours of duty, the station said. Her husband called her a major Trump supporter and American patriot.

The day before she died, Babbitt tweeted: “Nothing will stop us…. they can try and try and try but the storm is here and it is descending upon DC in less than 24 hours….dark to light.”

Babbitt, who used the Twitter handle CommonAshSense, also retweeted — a few hours ahead of her and other Donald Trump supporters storming the Capitol — a “MUST BE DONE LIST before Congress meets today.” On January 5, Babbitt retweeted TV footage of a pro-Trump crowd massing in DC ahead of the January 6 riots over the election result.

The Shooting was captured in a Disturbing Video

Disturbing video captured the moment a woman was fatally shot in the chest inside the US Capitol Building on Wednesday, as President Trump supporters intent on disrupting the certification of the presidential election stormed in.

The 30-second clip posted to Twitter captures the sound of a single gunshot, then shows the unidentified woman lying on the floor. Law-enforcement sources told CNN on Wednesday evening that she had died. The video showed blood pouring from the mouth of the motionless woman, who was draped in red, white, and blue.

Fellow protesters could be seen tending to the female protester, who was later seen being carried out of the building on a stretcher.

Both houses of Congress assembled to Certify the Presidential Election

Both houses of Congress assembled at the Capitol this morning to ratify the election of Joe Biden to be the next president of the United States. But President Donald Trump, who has refused to recognize his defeat, organized a rally outside to protest the results.

Speaking to thousands of protestors outside the Capitol, Trump warned that if Vice President Michael Pence accepted the election results—as the law and the Constitution require him to do—America would be “stuck with a president,” Biden, “who lost the election by a lot, and we have to live with that for four more years.” Trump vowed that “we’re just not going to let that happen.”

Protestors stormed the capitol building and forced their way past Capitol Hill police. As angry rioters began roaming through the hallways, police escorted Vice President Pence, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and other members of Congress out of the Capitol building.

With the capitol building still occupied by a violent mob, it’s not clear how much access rioters have gained to sensitive information. With luck, staffers who had access to classified data managed to log off before evacuating their offices. But with thousands of people working on Capitol Hill, it seems likely that some serious data breaches will occur.

Members of Congress fleeing a pro-Trump mob left their offices so quickly that at least one staffer left their computer on and logged into their official email, according to a screenshot posted by a conservative reporter. Elijah Schaffer, a conservative reporter for the Glenn Beck publication The Blaze, wrote that he was “inside Nancy Pelosi’s office” with what he called “revolutionaries” who have “stormed the building.”

Protesters stormed the building, with quite a few going out of their way to steal items or lounge around. One woman was shot and killed. Two explosive devices were allegedly found at the Republican National Committee, and a suspicious package reportedly to led the evacuation of the Democratic National Committee.
